T'was love at first sight on the night I met you

Introduced by a friend, you did hint

That you would marry that girl in the dress

Only ten days thereafter, our engagement announced

Five months after that we were wed

And now here today after all of these years

Our love has been nurtured and fed

Ten years have passed now, ten glorious years

Of being the wife you adore

I'll love you tomorrow and ten years from now

I love you so much that I'd live in a tent

Just as long as we both are together

With all of our memories collected in time

The two of us now and forever

A decade of happiness sharing our love

Our passions, our dreams and desires

I always feel safe and protected

Quite often we'll say something at the same time

Entwined, yes our souls are connected

My friends, I'd like to share the memories of my parent's life
My Father Floyd, my Mother Helen, together man & wife
They wed at Mendon Parsonage in nineteen fifty one
They've shared a happy life and raised a family of 3 sons
I am one of these 3 sons; there's James, myself and Bill
We'll love you now forever, in fact we always will

The Grandkids and your Great grandkids are also here today

Through poetry we now express just what we want to say
We'd like to show our gratitude with rhythmic words of love
Because you've shared your life with us, we thank the Lord above
The sacrifices that you've made, gave us the best you could
If we could give to you the moon & stars we surely would
Dad, you've always worked real hard so we could have the best
Mum, you always help the ones in need or in distress
Through verse we now congratulate two very special souls
Who love us, support us and make all our lives whole
We now reflect on memories, the laughter and the tears
And celebrate a milestone of fifty golden years
Whilst gathered here today with friends and all the family
We wish you all the very best, expressed so easily
We all are so much richer in our spirits 'cause you're here
So Happy Anniversary for your golden wedding year.
