Proudly Presented To Andrew Spilva
President Chamber of Commerce Yarrawonga/Mulwala Victoria Australia For Recognition, Appreciation & Heartfelt Gratitude 12th December 2000 Let me tell you a little story 'bout a man we know so well Andrew is the man whose story I'm about to tell A man whom we respect, look up to and admire A man whose theatrics can fuel a courtroom spark to fire The personality of the man to whom this verse refers “Rumpole Of The Bailey” is his likened character Residing by the Murray where the tourists linger longer With iron fist he rules the Commerce Chamber of Yarrawonga His admirable attempts are made upon the golf course green Peeks up from the sand trap, clouds of sand is all that's seen Whacks that little golf ball 'round until it's almost flat Maybe he'd play better with basketball and cricket bat! His charming, lovely wife, Oh what a saint is Vivian! It's anybody's guess how she can tolerate this man "She who must be obeyed" , life partner and a friend Vivian! Our saviour, when Andrew drives us ‘round the bend But seriously folks, while we are gathered here today Our gratitude expressed in this most poetic way A rhythmic reward for a kind and caring heart Unselfish generosity sets this man apart Presented now to you Andrew for your valued contributions A poetic presentation was the ultimate solution On behalf of everyone concerned, your colleagues and your friends We celebrate another year now drawing to an end We wish you Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year And thank the Lord for our gift of a treasured friend so dear. Presented on Behalf of all the Members of the Executive Committee |

How
do we begin to express our thanks and gratitude
Words
they don't come easy and they often will elude
But
rhythmic words come easy now, through verse we'd like to say
Les,
we present this gift to honour you this day
A
token of our appreciation expressed poetically
A
token of our friendship expressed so easily
For
six years now you've guided us and worked with diligence
Patient,
understanding, man of honour, no pretence
Your
Army experience has made you leader of men
Major,
we salute you as our Chairman once again
Yes
we've had our ups and downs, at times we've disagreed
But
your kind of leadership is important, yes indeed
Delighted
are we all to give a gift you'd least expect
A
tribute to you Les with admiration and respect
So
proudly we present to you this keepsake poetry
Expressing
how we feel to keep alive the memory
We
take this opportunity to now congratulate
Les
Foote, our Chairman, now let's toast to celebrate |
